can't stop kitting

no that's not a typo...it's a made up word!

I normally dis-like starting to produce a new kit, there's not enough sewing involved to keep me on track...but right now I'm on a roll !!

Perhaps it's the heat? ...it makes me want to do sitting-in-the-garden-in-the-shade craft rather than workshop machine sewing, or cutting out lots of felt pieces....I wonder how many kits I can knock off my forever-to-do list before the heat disappears??

there's no keeping me down, as long as there's stitching I'm happy :-)

a scorcher!

today was hot! hot! hot!

so I got up bright and early to do the ironing that I had planned and finished off these packs of iron-on flowers.

pins ... pins ... pins

I've just completed a special order for drawing pins.

They are to be used on a new art wall my customer has just created in her home.

Isn't an art wall just one of the best ideas??

just imagine the many hours moving pictures and drawings around until they were just perfect...and many many more hours cutting out pictures from magazines!

and in case I'm giving the impression that I'm a sewer with superhero powers, I'm not, most of these were made already...I just made an extra dozen to make up the numbers :-)

and anyway superhero sewers wouldn't have a nearly empty drawing pin shop would they?

finally!

at the beginning of the month I cut out some cupcake totes

a week later and one had been sewn

and today I finally finished all 3!

AND listed them on the website~hurrah!

an evening off

yesterday John surprised me with a gift ::

I'd seen this rabbit a little while ago in a window of a local shop and John decided I must have it!
Isn't he great??? Such a lovely way to start a Monday :-)
We had a relaxing evening off ... after work & the post office trip we went for a drink in the evening sunshine with friends then went for a tapas dinner...yum yum!

where did Thursday go?

yesterday was a whirlwind day

but I did manage to fit some sewing in!

this should keep me busy!

On Sunday I received an order for ::

12 x penguin ornaments

6 x owl ornaments

12 x reindeer ornaments

12 x cupcake softies

and on Monday morning another order for 12x cupcakes!

I've made good progress so far...

...in fact it's been a pleasure to have to make myself sit down and sew, sew, sew!

I love Sundays.

Today John and I had a lazy morning involving a bacon-y breakfast, lots of coffee & some web browsing.

I went to the workshop at 12 o'clock and got started on Kit Making, John went to his garage and got started on car mending!

and I made a few extra to stock up my own shelves too!

remember the other day I showed you some penguins that had been made by a class of sewers? well today I'm showing you some A~M~A~Z~I~N~G stitching by one of my customers ::
piles of felt and ribbon turned into super~cute key rings

The sewer in question is called Claire and she has a blog chock~full of different crafts called Love Poppet ... thanks for sharing Claire ~ I love seeing what gets made from with the parcels I send out!

I'm a happy stitcher

Some items on my website are listed as 'made-to-order' purely because I haven't had time to make more....and over the weekend I had an order for a 'made-to-order' Robot Cupcake Maker Softie.

I haven't made one for weeks and weeks and I had fun making this little fellow.

He seemed to like the workshop and visited all the areas...

...at one point I couldn't find him & discovered him hiding behind the curtain!

Yesterday my Mum & Dad came to visit, along with my sister & niece...the day went by in a flash, I had such a lovely time and was so sad to see them all go :-(

Today I busied myself with packing orders ... the loyalty card system is working well~lots of stickers are being earned and I'm having fun sticking them all on!
This afternoon I did a lot of cutting out and then I decided to start stitching the cupcake bags I cut out a week or so ago...one is finished, the other two are getting there!

a felt delivery arrived and it's now unpacked

and my packed orders looked so cheerful on the rug, waiting to be bagged & carried to the Post Office that I thought I needed to take a photo!

the orange spotty one is a return to Boden...I treated myself when they had a bargain 20% off offer but the jacket I ordered wasn't great so it's going back and I'm getting another pair of summer trousers ,not white ones though...they'd be guaranteed to get covered in felt fluff!!
