We took John's Mum & Dad to Monkey World....if you ever come to Dorset you need to go to Monkey World - we've been a few times now and have loved every visit :-)

ooohhh special buttons

my button rep is really rather lovely - not only does she come and visit me and fill my day with buttons BUT she also pops a box of end of line buttons in the boot of her car for me to rumage through!

 these are all from the range I never buy from because they are much-o, expensive-o, super lovely buttons from Italy...but with a discount I couldn't say No!!

 I've listed them all in the Limited Edition section of the website - I definitely can't get anymore of these!

blogging on a Monday - well I never!

I hardly ever get a chance to Blog on a Monday!  it is by far our busiest parcel-packing day of the week but today we were up super early and got a good head start on it all ....so what did I do with my spare half an hour?

a weekend of two halves

yesterday ::
our next door neighbours took us on a boat trip in their fishing boat...we piloted (not sailed, or drove...piloted) out of West Bay Habour (top photo) and headed west...we went along the coastline and had fab views of Eype, Seatown, Charmouth and our destination of choice:  Lyme Regis (bottom photo)

We moored at the pontoon, strolled along Cobb Harbour onto the seafront, found a pub/restaurant that took our fancy and had a leisurely lunch and a cool drink in the sun.  Heaven.

today ::
was a day of sorting out some new stock that had been delivered ....tonnes of tools have been added to the website :: more pom pom makers, air erasable pens, bondaweb and freezer paper too...along with some little Christmas fancies :-)

one really rather heavy delivery +PLUS+  hours of counting and sorting +PLUS+ lots of little grip seal bags =EQUALS= all the metal findings restocked!

now we have more space I have decided to stock bigger bags of Toy Stuffing (aka Fluff) it was pretty good value before (100g for £1.50) but now you get 250g for just £2.50....a winner all round :-)

John and I made the most of the lovely weather this weekend - we visited Bridport's Food Festival, had a BBQ with lots of our neighbours, went to the Vintage Rally (steam engines, tractors, cars and fun moving models - the fun fair in the pic above was my favourite!) we popped to the workplace of our next door neighbour to see a gazillion orchids that are growing there - like seeing a carpet of Bluebells, but better because it was Orchids! and then we had a relaxing Sunday afternoon in the pub garden.  Fantastic - hope you had a good weekend too?

Ikea Hack

 I love Ikea.  Nearly all the furniture in the barn is from Ikea.  But our great wall of Expedits was not quite right.  It worked as a room divider, it worked as double sided unit and I loved it because I *finally* had one cube per felt colour (that had been on my wish list for a VERY long time!)  but it wasted space.  lots of space. 

until we hacked it.
I say we...but it was John...it was hard work and very repetitive but he perservered and look ::

isn't it FAB??  I totally LOVE it, even more so because John did it for me - thanks Dude :-)

a teaser

my weekend spent ordering stock has resulted in a flurrry of deliveries today...I've opened them all, oohhhh'd and ahhhh'd over everything and managed to get nothing done!  HAHA!  newness will be with you soon(ish) ;-)

 yippee!! the new website layout is finished!!...hopefully it's all a lot more user friendly and a lot easier to see the huge range of felt & crafty things that we sell ... and hopefully it'll be a lot easier for me to add tonnes of new things too :-)

 yesterday John climbed on the roof (very carefully!) to take a look at a really rather ginormous moth that was on the window

John loves Moths (and Spiders...all things insecty really) me? I think they are pretty especially when they are  outside the window ;-)

and the BIG moth (we now know - thanks to Springwatch's forum) is a Poplar Moth.

 today's visitors were of the human form (hi Julie *wave*) - and ones that bought monkey biscuits and chocolate cakes!  yUmmMMmmY which seemed a pretty good deal to me - good company and cake swapped for a barn tour and a box full of felty remnants for a dementia craft group :-)

I'm more than half way throught the website re-jig ...only two sections left to go now! Yesterday and today I've been super busy picking and packing parcels so haven't had a chance to look at it, let alone fiddle with it be a technical guru and get it finished!  I'm just hoping the HUGE piles of orders mean you like it?

the website redesign is going well so far!
Yesterday I finished the Fabric section and the Button section - today I tackled the ribbons

 All the ribbon products are now in the correct place and should be much easier to find (and much easier for me to add loads of new ones soon!) - once I've done the 'mechanics' of the whole website I plan to go back and update all the product listings too!  phew-ee this website building is hard work!
