DIY felt cross stitch

 Do you remember my cross stitch Lion Cushion that I made from a kit (that we sell in the shop)?

 I loved stitching the design, and whilst I was sewing I wondered why you couldn't get the felt that I was stitching through without buying a kit ... then I found some and it was super-expensive (poop)

 ...but I didn't stop there, I found some more - and this is £1.50 for an A4 size sheet, MUCH nicer on the purse ;-)

 It comes in white or cream and it's screaming out for some colourful stitches .... what shall I make first?

Deliveries

 Two big deliveries arrived today....

 ....everything got counted & checked off, then put onto the website...

 ...and then I had to find room to squeeze it all in :-)

 It's quite amazing how the barn feels full, but there's always wiggle room for more :-)

 It took an hour to fill the embroidery threads up....but I'll be glad I did it when I'm picking and packing them :-)

I did it!

I have *finally* cracked the problem of website domains!
The new website is on paper-and-string.net and the old one was paper-and-string.co.uk...and now, despite hurdles & obstacles and silly (really rather technical) thing-ummy-bobs being in my way FINALLY both are linked and visiting either web address will take you to our website :-)

(it takes 48 hours for this magical thing to happen - so far it's been 7 hours and it works for me...if it doesn't work for you yet please wait another 41 hours & try again - different servers will show the results at different times! and I really REALLY really don't want to hear it hasn't worked after 3 months of trying!!!)

tiny velvet

 I love velvet ribbon, but good velvet ribbon is expensive and that means it's held back for those extra special projects - but GOOD NEWS - this velvet ribbon is gorgeous AND very very good value for money...it's 3mm wide and just 15p a metre AND it comes in nice colours - how could I say no?

A gingham rainbow

 We've got a brand new selection of Gingham fabric in the shop - it comes in 16 colours (yay!) it's a lovely wide cut (140cm) it's £2.75 a fat quarter, £5.30 a half metre and £10 a metre AND it can be turned into felt fabric, if you so wish :-)
