a new home

We've moved house!

It's not the ideal time of year to do it, but we'd been looking for a while and when this lovely house came available we went to look and had to say yes!

Our one condition was we had to be in before Christmas (so we could relax properly whilst we're closed over Christmas) and we got the keys on Saturday - the last few days have been a blur of rapid-packing & moving from one house to another and last night we were finally in! It's definitely a lot easier to move within the same town than it is moving across 3 counties like we did last time!

We're living out of boxes right now but it won't take long to get it straight...and THEN, and only then, I can put up the Christmas tree!!

pom-pom-ing

I made 3 Large PomPoms yesterday - I resisted using 'normal' Christmas colours and made them in all shades of pink & grey...pom poms aren't just for Christmas you know ;-)

I did - and I neeeeeed to make pom poms!

Of course, a couple of pieces of card will always work - it doesn't really matter which way you pom pom, as long as you make some ;-)

last minute stocking up

we'd sold out of quite a few things over the past week or so which meant a few last minute orders had to be placed with my suppliers - I've filled up on ::

frosted felt

white (and the purple) budget busting air erasing pens
AND
sewing threads, all sorts of ribbons, hoops, elastic, snowflake buttons, zips & wooden spools!
phew-ee!

Production Line

We've been working hard this weekend getting all the pre-ordered boxes made and ready to send.  There's something very satisfying about slowly filling the table with boxes and boxes of colour :-)

The front page of the website has been adorned with two Christmas notices - one with all the useful info about last posting dates for wherever you live in the world - if you order after these dates I will still send your parcel, but it may not be there for Christmas Day .... and the other is about our holiday shut down :-)

I Love Baker's Twine.

It's great for all sorts of crafts...

and it comes in so many colours you can always find just what you need for a certain project

 the two tones are fabulous for adding a touch of colour

I've been shopping!

Lots & lots of stock has arrived and I'm slowly unpacking, photographing and listing everything on the website....the first thing to arrive was a gingerbreadman die - and WOW did that slow down progress for a while!  I cut out a few to sew together and got Slightly Addicted to making Gingerbread Men Decorations....14 so far!

  these are BIG ginger's: 14cm tall x 11cm wide

 I used one of new felt colours for these: Mocha
but they are available in any colour you wish

 the die cuts cost 25p per piece (you need 2 to make a decoration) and the price gets lower the more you buy, which is a good thing because once you've made one you'll want to make more (and more!)

Some  times I forward order stock - I don't do it often because not all suppliers do that, but this ribbon was ordered waaaay back in February....I was a bit 'over' Christmas at that point but I could not resist these - and when I opened the delivery on Friday afternoon I was SUPER happy that I'd got my hands on these :-)

shop talk

Today we spent time prepping stock to fill up the pop-up-shop...now we have more space there (and more stock!) we can fill up twice a week, rather than every other day - which is a lot more efficient ... It's amazing how different the fill-up list is every time....this time it was fabric, fabric & more fabric!!

It takes a lot of cutting, folding & packing but it looks lovely when it's done!! (these are photos in the workshop - they will be put in the shop after work tomorrow)
