There's nothing quite as cosy as being in the barn, with rain drumming on the roof , the heating on and a fun task ahead of me....and this morning was all about freebies
As you know (or maybe you don't?) every time you spend £25 on our website (full priced items, not including p&p) you get a free gift box....the more £25's spent the bigger your free gift box is.
This mornings job was to cut and fold stacks and stacks of fabrics and felts so they are ready for free gift box making :-)

Look at these fabrics!
I love the colour pallets of both these fabric collections.
They are both Gorgeous (with a capital G!)
All our fabrics are sold as fabric (fat quarters, half metres & longer pieces) AND as Fabric Felt (fabric and felt bonded together - perfect for bow making, and all sorts of other crafty endeavours)
They are all in the What's New section here: https://www.paper-and-string.net/what-s-new

I can't wait to show you these.....!
I am SUPER excited to show you our new handmade-by-us product:
These our our NEW felt banners - made from our Natural premium felt...they have a wooden dowel....and a faux-leather hanging cord...and they are plain so you can Decorate them yourself...brilliant, right?
Each banner is made from two layers of felt so you can stitch and decorate your banner front then glue (or sew) the two layers together and all your handiwork is hidden :-)
I made this bunny banner ::
and added some loopy trim to finish the edges - but you can leave them plain, add ric rac or pom pom trim
one metre of loopy trim was enough to edge the banner and the left over piece was wrapped around a felt ball to make one of the flowers :-)
I hope you like the NEW banners as much as I do?
you can find them on our website here:

It's Christmas Sale time!
We have TWO amazing offers on for you whilst we are closed for Christmas Holidays...first is a whole sale section of Christmas Crafting items ... you can see the before & after prices whilst you are shopping (there are some serious bargains - we have new things coming and nowhere to put them!!) ...the second offer is ALL our remaining Christmas fabric is 40% off - you need to type the code: christmas2017 to get the fabric discount (a £3.75 fat quarter works out as £2.25!!)
You'll have to be quick - stocks are limited to what we have left and it's first come first served - both sales finish once we re-open on January 5th 2017
So, just to be really obvious - NOTHING gets posted until we are back on 5th Jan (and they will get posted out in the order we receive them - and we will work at warp speed to get everything to you asap)
Also - sale items don't count towards total spends to get your free craft kit :-)
Happy Christmas - and Happy Sale Shopping too ;-)

2017 crafting
During the busy-ness of Christmas parcel sending I have started thinking about next year's crafting - all thoughts of snowmen and reindeer are disappearing and being replaced by bunnies, hearts & flowers...and I can see from some of the parcels I'm sending out that I am not alone - so with thoughts of 2017 already brewing the timing of our latest fabric delivery was perfect!
As always, all our fabrics are available as Fabric (cut to order) or made into Fabric Felt
All these designs are in the what's new section here: http://www.paper-and-string.net/what-s-new

A barn shuffle
On Tuesday A (really very) BIG box arrived .... containing a brand new ribbon rack :-)
Such a big piece of brand new furniture meant it was time to shuffle the barn around to fit it in!
It took John and I the best part of Saturday to do it but it was definitely worth all the hard work - doesn't it look FAB?

Swap Tree
I've had a swap re-think this year and made a Swap Tree to show off all the handmade loveliness as it gets posted to us :-)
All the tree-making credit goes to John - I knew I wanted a tree-that-was-like-a-poster-I-can-hang-things-off...and I knew what it should look like, and then John was super smart and worked out how to make it perfectly :-)
The background fabric is my favourite Cool Yule fabric...the tree is Apple felt, and the lengths of mini-tree-garland work perfectly as an anchor to hang the decorations off
The first swap decorations arrived with yesterday's post and look great on the Swap Tree :-)
Full swap details are here http://www.paper-and-string.net/swap
and there's a photo album on our Facebook page which will have more details on the swap's progress and the decorations received https://www.facebook.com/573466359364325/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1270143199696634
