I Love Baker's Twine.

It's great for all sorts of crafts...

and it comes in so many colours you can always find just what you need for a certain project

 the two tones are fabulous for adding a touch of colour

and the metallics add some sparkle :-)

I've been shopping!

Lots & lots of stock has arrived and I'm slowly unpacking, photographing and listing everything on the website....the first thing to arrive was a gingerbreadman die - and WOW did that slow down progress for a while!  I cut out a few to sew together and got Slightly Addicted to making Gingerbread Men Decorations....14 so far!

  these are BIG ginger's: 14cm tall x 11cm wide

 I used one of new felt colours for these: Mocha
but they are available in any colour you wish

 the die cuts cost 25p per piece (you need 2 to make a decoration) and the price gets lower the more you buy, which is a good thing because once you've made one you'll want to make more (and more!)

Ribbons for Christmas

Some  times I forward order stock - I don't do it often because not all suppliers do that, but this ribbon was ordered waaaay back in February....I was a bit 'over' Christmas at that point but I could not resist these - and when I opened the delivery on Friday afternoon I was SUPER happy that I'd got my hands on these :-)

shop talk

Today we spent time prepping stock to fill up the pop-up-shop...now we have more space there (and more stock!) we can fill up twice a week, rather than every other day - which is a lot more efficient ... It's amazing how different the fill-up list is every time....this time it was fabric, fabric & more fabric!!

It takes a lot of cutting, folding & packing but it looks lovely when it's done!! (these are photos in the workshop - they will be put in the shop after work tomorrow)

I have had so much fun making these samples up!

They arrived on Friday and I couldn't wait to stitch them - there are two packs...each pack has 8 animals (2 each of 4 different animals)

Yestreday was the hottest day of the year so far - and we had a delivery of Christmas Fabrics!!

A well deserved break

We've just got back from a mini holiday! John booked a last minute trip for us to the Isle Of Wight. We stayed at the Vintage Vacations campsite for 2 nights ...we arrived on the island late on Friday and got home to Dorset at 8pm tonight (Sunday) - it was a brilliant break that has recharged our batteries completely

Pop-Up Shop

Our Pop-Up Shop has expanded :-)
The space next to us became available so we now have twice as much room! 
We're very lucky because hardly any spaces have come back up for rent since it opened and when the one Right Next Door emptied we thought we'd go for it!

 the new space means we have tonnes more room for fabric - there are 400+ fat quarters on that table!

 the giant 'dolls house' shrank a touch to fit the hang-display unit on the right hand side

 I hope this stays nice and tidy :-)

 We've still got some more stock to put in there and fill it out a bit more - I completely under-estimated quite how much stock we'd need to fill all the new space!

 I love how the whole building has been left un-touched ... crumbly walls and uneven floors - and I love the curved ceiling - it's like a cave :-)

 That big cream & black bit behind the Handmade display is the back of our cupboard (it's full of kits, you can see the pretty side in the 1st photo) and there will be something pretty covering that by the end of the day!!

 It took John and I four hours to set it all up - not bad going!  and because we were there for so long we got to meet some of our customers - one lady & gentleman had travelled from Sidmouth for a day out and thought they'd pop in and see the shop - hopefully they came back after their lunch and saw it looking a lot prettier than when they saw us mid-way through the set up and the whole lot was in boxes and a bit of a *mess* :-)
